A unique, fun seminar is filling up fast in Oklahoma City. Laughter as therapy has strong appeal for those in helping careers. Various health care practitioners; nurses, therapists, counselors and even doctors, are incorporating Laughter Yoga into their work. Others who decide to learn this revolutionary practice and begin using laughter exercises include activity directors, fitness teachers, ministers, professional speakers and entertainers, human resource managers and even sales/marketing professionals.
Laughter Yoga is a scientifically designed and research supported protocol designed to relax, invigorate, and stimulate creative genius using deep, sustained and intentional laughter, without reliance on humor. A combination of interactive laughter exercises with deep centering breaths give a complete “well-being workout” that creates a joyful connection with others and enables participants to laugh more easily at life's travails.
In addition to the training, a five hour Laughter and Silence Retreat will be held from four to nine PM on Friday January 20th for those curious and interested, but not sure about making the commitment to laughter as exercise, "Just for the Health of it!" The mini-retreat is a great way to relax, de-stress and experience the benefits of this healing laughter and breathing protocol. Cost for the retreat is just $35 per person or $50 per couple. The retreat will include special laughter sessions, laughter meditation, guided relaxation (Yoga Nidra) and techniques for laughing alone daily to diffuse stress and depression and improve wellness. Yogic breathing techniques not covered in the Certified Laughter Yoga Leader training over the weekend will be taught.
Laughter Yoga was founded in 1995 by Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor from Mumbai, India. His research on the psychological and physiological benefits of laughter motivated the development of this concept using laughter as exercise with deep breathing. Laughter Yoga has seen exceptional growth, with more than 8000 Laughter Clubs in over 80 countries.
Consider being part of the world-wide Laughter Yoga mission in spreading health, joy and peace.
Laughter Yoga imparts many benefits such as boosted immunity, natural pain relief and greater emotional health. Mercer invites you to experience this easy unique physical, mental and emotional wellness practice and try out Laughter Yoga.
