Ellen Mercer - Certified in 2007 as LY Leader in OKC and April 2010 as a teacher (CLYT) in Chicago by Dr. Kataria. Ellen earned B.Sc. in Nutrition at Colorado State U with a career in nutrition and as marketing specialist. Ellen is excited about the effectiveness of intentional laughter as healing food for mind, body and spirit. She shared laughter with special children for a few years at Oklahaven Children's Chiropractic Center in OKC www.chiropractic4kids.com, leads two Laughter Clubs for seniors and brings Laughter Yoga to schools, businesses, church groups, senior centers and sessions at conventions. www.LaughNow.weebly.com

Ellen Mercer

Ellen Mercer is sure that laughter has changed her life; made her more light-hearted, resolved pain and brought her wonderful new friends and relationships. Oklahoma’s only active Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher/Trainer and this state’s most experienced Laughter Yoga Leader, Ellen has trained 150 new leaders.

Ellen has shared laughter programs with schools, church groups, senior centers, clinical settings and break-out sessions at conventions. She currently leads weekly ongoing laughter clubs and worked for two years laughing with special children (CP, autism etc) at Oklahaven Children’s Chiropractic Center.

With a degree in nutrition it is only natural that she views laughter sessions as food for body, mind and spirit. She loves working with people of all ages and abilities, bringing them the proven benefits of unconditional laughter.

Ellen grew up in Denver and earned her degree in food science and nutrition from Colorado State University. She and her husband, John, also a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, have lived in Oklahoma City since 1977. Laughter on purpose is one of the most fun and impact-full things they have done in this community.
